Goal: use past perfect for "earlier-of-two-past-actions" stories, transform imperatives to passive recipe form, describe a simple-living lifestyle, write a 200-word "simple is the smarter rich" essay.

📐 Past perfect

  • Recipe: had + V3.
  • The EARLIER of two past events.
  • Triggers: by then · before · after · when · already.
Kavindu's grandfather had had a fall. When his friends arrived, he had swept the house.

📐 Imperative → Passive (recipes)

  • The [object] is / are + V3.
  • String with first, next, then, after that, finally.
Dice the vegetables → The vegetables are diced. Boil water → Water is boiled. Stir for 10 min → The mixture is stirred for 10 minutes.

🌱 Simple-living vocabulary

  • self-sufficient · stress-free · home-cooked · kitchen garden
  • reuse · recycle · repair · give away · share
  • chena cultivation · compost · save · earn
  • wealthy = rich (use it for a "twist" in essays — wealth ≠ money)

  • Yoghurt cup nursery → fresh chillies for 0 rupees
  • Repaired kettle → 10 years' service
